my first instinct was to choose something that was food related since I love working with food concepts/problems. the first food psa that came to mind which i had already heard of was the got milk campaign.

however, as i began to look more at the videos they create, it is difficult to try and figure out how to utilize the script and create a PSA message that I feel strongly about. when talking with kelsey, she helped me realize that im not particularly drawn to the message of drinking milk- i happen to drink oat milk more than dairy milk, but instead the playful tone with which this PSA uses.

so, i could utilize this tone with a different PSA (like maybe about food waste or another more strong PSA topic). however, when talking to kristin, she mentioned the idea of taking one these got milk videos/scripts and switching the tone to be something like “save the cows” or an “anti milk psa” which could also be an interesting take. however, i have been struggling with understanding how i might be able to take these video scripts and completely 180 flip the message into something like “don’t got milk” or in that vain.

i would really love to make this idea work because i love the idea of flipping a got milk campaign to be about more than one type of milk, but have just been struggling with how to do this.

i found one of the got milk ads which has a bit more text than the others and compilied the words, and there is not too much to work with.

-i don’t want milk , milk’s for babies

-ya, babies

-oh ya? well i happen to know that milk helps build strong bones, so drink up

-well mr. miller told me he never drinks milk and look at him!

-hey kids!

-oh, thats not good

-got milk?

then i also saw this video which has a bit more text
