these two first examples are both by the same video studio of LAMAR+NIK . they are not the usual first thought when it comes to kinetic type (usually i think first of sleek after effects animations of text). however, this handmade, placed in built environment style of kinetic typography is much more engaging/interesting to me.
since the first time i saw this leon bridges music video, i have been so in awe of the stratastencil animation style, and thing that the kinetic type that results (a few places in this video w type) gives the words a certain voice that cannot be attained via making through digitial on after effects. there is a lack of “clean” animation that makes it more human.

this movie is one of my favorite comfort movies, and everytime i watch it, i fall in love with this title sequence all over again. the saul bass inspired kinetic type and animations are so beautiful yet simplistic and clean.
